Your liver is the major organ of detoxification. Yet, it is just not nurtured enough. It does a heavy job all the time. When it comes to supporting liver detox with food and lifestyle, there is so much you can do, starting with incuding this gorgeous cauliflower curry into your diet.

Who doesn’t love a great Indian curry. Yet, as you will find me saying again and again, it is important that therapeutic cooking for health is both flavourful and simple. As a working woman and a mother, I do not have the time for elaborate cooking. But, I want everyone to be healthy and eat what their body needs.

Detox your liver by eating cauliflower curry!

You might be wondering why cauliflower. I know that many of you avoid eating cauliflower for a variety of reasons. This might be because you feel pesticides are high. This is mostly true but you can find some sources which are not. You might be avoiding it thinking that it’s bad for thyroid health. This is not quite true, unless you are eating huge amounts of it.

Cauliflower curry is delicious! This one is super quick and can be a great accompaniment for meats, lentils, fish and anything else. The great benefit is that you will help your liver detox! Your liver is overworked most of the time today.

The reason for this is that it is detoxifying all the toxins and chemicals from all around. This is a tough job! Show your liver some love by eating the right way, reducing your exposure to toxins and getting good sleep!

As you keep seeing all my recipes, I have three stars of the show, in this case, it’s cauliflower, turmeric and coriander. Remember my mantra, which is enjoy food from concept to creation to consumption! You really want to bring your awareness. Intention matters. If you think that you need a liver detox, try this cauliflower curry, loaded with brilliant spices.

Let’s breakdown the ingredients of this cauliflower curry before going into it:

Cauliflower– The sulforaphane in cauliflower helps liver detox. It also contains choline, which is a liver detox nutrient. It is rich in B vitamins, which again are required for the same purpose.

It is a low carb vegetable which is why it is a great option as a grain replacement, and rich in fibre too. Some people may find themselves bloating, but that usually means that they need some healing. Cauliflower actually has so many benefits

Turmeric–Curcumin in turmeric is another potent liver detox nutrient. It is anti-inflammatory and rich in antioxidants. Turmeric contains bioactive compounds that have immense medicinal properties. Beyond all the benefits, it makes everything look gorgeous!

Coriander–Coriander has natural chelating properties. It binds with toxins and heavy metals and allows your liver to exctrete it out of the body. It contains magnesium, niacin, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, thiamine and betacarotene. Many of the B vitamins also support liver detox!

Gorgeous Cauliflower Curry For Liver Detox

This gorgeous cauliflower curry contains three powerful liver detox ingredients along with a load of fresh spices. It is super simple to make and is wonderfully flavouful!

Course Accompaniment, Side Dish, Vegetables
Cuisine Indian
Servings 2 people


  • Heavy bottomed pan
  • Stove


  • 1 organic Cauliflower
  • 1 large Onion
  • 2 tbsp Ghee or Sesame Oil Little more if required
  • 1 Green Chilly
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder
  • 1 tsp Chilly Powder Reduce if you want it mild spice
  • 1 tbsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Cumin Powder
  • 1 tsp Curry Powder
  • 2 Ripe Red Tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup Coriander Leaves
  • Salt


  • Chop the cauliflower into medium sized florets and set aside. Chop the onions fine and set aside. Blanch the tomatoes in hot water, peel and paste. Set aside.
  • In a hot pan, add the ghee or oil. Saute the onions lightly and add the cauliflower. Cover and cook on low heat for ten minutes. Check that the cualiflower is lightly browned. Remove into a bowl and set aside.
  • Wash the pan. Add a little more ghee or oil. Keep the heat high. Add the tomato paste and let is bubble for a few minutes. Add all the spices and saute for one minute until the oil gently seeps out. Keep the heat high. Add back the cauliflower and onions and toss on high heat until lightly brown. Add the fresh coriander leaves and salt and serve hot.


Optional add ons are some tofu, boiled green peas, red carrots and sweet potatoes

Book Acquisition by HarperCollins India

Here’s that exciting news I spoke about to coincide with the one year anniversary of The Sleep Whisperer Podcast! Writing a book and becoming part of that magical group of authors is a dream!

Three years ago I wrote a book which I titled Sleep Whisperer, looking at sleep from a very in depth perspective, and tying together the cutting-edge science of functional medicine and eastern ancient wisdom. The story of how I wrote that book is indeed magical and a mixture of spiritual guidance and astrology(by my spiritual guide and mentor Shyam @himalayan.yogi ). It’s also been a lot of sacrifice and hard work during times that were stressful, challenging and testing in all ways.

The journey of the book from concept to acquisition is also a magical path which I will share much later. For now, I’m just humbled, grateful and quite simply excited to announce that the book has been acquired by Sonal Nerurkar @sonal_nerurkar of @harpercollinsin HarperCollins India! Sonal’s faith in the book has been unwavering and I’ll forever be grateful for it. I can’t wait for the final book release next year!
